The award is bestowed on students enrolled in one of the university\u2019s online business programs who demonstrate ambition, academic excellence, and a comprehensive understanding of today\u2019s business environment.<\/p>\n<p>The three winners are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Olusegun Awoyemi, BS in Business, Finance Specialization<\/li>\n<li>Sasha Green, MBA , Entrepreneurship Specialization<\/li>\n<li>Michelle Price-Johnson, PhD in Business Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The winners visited New York City, where they toured The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones, participated in a leadership development session led by <em>Dow Jones Talent Development<\/em>, and enjoyed a dinner cruise around Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5381 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/stgwww.capella.edu\/blogs\/cublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/12\/DSC_8329-691x460.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8329\" width=\"691\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stgwww.capella.edu\/blogs\/cublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/12\/DSC_8329-691x460.jpg 691w, https:\/\/stgwww.capella.edu\/blogs\/cublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/12\/DSC_8329-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stgwww.capella.edu\/blogs\/cublog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/12\/DSC_8329-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 639px) 98vw, (max-width: 1199px) 64vw, 691px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Besides the value of visiting America\u2019s financial center, the recognition itself struck an important chord with each of the winners. Awoyemi, who works as an operations manager for US Bank, noted the importance of the award to him: \u201cSo much has changed in the second half of my life. This will increase my intellectual capacity and integrity and allow me to be a better representative of Capella University.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Green, the co-founder of HealthCHEC Technologies, Inc., the award validates a journey that she began with some trepidation. \u201cI was going through a tough time in my life when I began the degree, but Capella came in and gave me drive\u2014something to look forward to,\u201d Green shares. \u201cI used to be afraid of business, afraid of the business world, and didn\u2019t feel totally capable of being a business leader. So when I received this award, it was not only a sign that I\u2019d convinced myself that I could be a business leader, I\u2019d convinced others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Price-Johnson is a leadership consultant and coach at Leading in Life who sees the award as the icing on an even bigger cake. \u201cI was always an undercover academic,\u201d she says. \u201cI had wanted to go back to school, but I had given up the idea of getting my PhD because I couldn\u2019t see how I could stop my work life. Capella saw me through it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Capella\u2019s collaboration with <em>The Wall Street Journal <\/em>began in early 2015 with the common goals of expanding students\u2019 knowledge of business, strategy, leadership, finance, and economics.
