What is FlexPath?
FlexPath is a learning format for the way you live today. You can set your own deadlines, leverage your experience to move forward at your own pace, and take advantage of flat-rate tuition every 12 weeks to help lower the cost of earning a degree.

Fitting higher education into your busy schedule can feel like a challenge. FlexPath can help. Instead of traditional exams and fixed deadlines, you demonstrate competency in specific areas within your chosen discipline, all with the freedom to learn at your own pace.

How FlexPath works
You can earn the same degree you would earn in our GuidedPath format, with the same focus on developing practical skills and abilities in your chosen field, but with increased flexibility to control your pace and manage your schedule.
Manage the cost of earning a degree
Pay a flat tuition fee for each 12-week billing session. Take one or two courses at a time with no limit to the number of courses you complete each billing session. The faster you move, the more you save.
Set your own target dates
There are no fixed deadlines in FlexPath. When you start a new course, you set your own target dates to complete the assessments for that course. If you need to adjust your target dates for the assessments in your course, you can.
Demonstrate your competency
FlexPath assessments measure your competency in targeted skills for a professional field, so there is no wasted time or effort. As you work on each assessment, you have the freedom to explore the course material and move at your own pace.
Get support when you need it
The FlexPath courseroom gives you access to faculty members who are scholar-practitioners with real-world experience in their fields. You can also get help from academic coaches who help you stay on track to complete your goals.

It’s up to you. FlexPath allows you to complete coursework on your schedule and move on without having to wait. Each course must be completed within 12 weeks.

You can take one or two courses at a time. When you finish a course, you can start the next one without having to wait. There is no limit to how many courses you complete during each billing session.
There are no letter grades in FlexPath. Instead, all coursework is evaluated through competency-based assessments. Each assessment is broken down into competencies, or criteria, that are all assessed with one of four performance levels: distinguished, proficient, basic or non-performance. If you’re struggling with an assessment, coaching and other resources are available to help you.
When you finish a course, you will automatically be registered for the next course in your program plan. If you wish to register for a course earlier, or if a new course isn’t open after 4–6 hours of finishing the prior course, contact a coach for help with registration.
There are no tests, letter grades or weekly discussion posts in FlexPath. Instead, students are evaluated on competencies. These are defined as the skills, knowledge and abilities required to show mastery in a topic or course.
Yes. FlexPath students can get help from academic coaches and faculty members in the courseroom.
Pay a flat-rate tuition every 12-week billing session. You can take one or two courses at a time and complete as many as you want during each billing session. The faster you move, the more you save.
